A dedicated bookkeeper, not a bookkeeping queue
Most bookkeeping services give you a slot in a queue. Your transactions get processed once a month by whoever is free, and questions go through an account manager. That works until you need an answer quickly.
A StaffLink bookkeeper works only for you, full time. They learn your suppliers, your customers and your quirks: the director who buys fuel on a personal card, the customer who always short-pays by a few pounds. Because they're in your books every day, your numbers are current every day.
What your offshore bookkeeper handles
A typical week for one of our bookkeepers includes:
- Bank feeds and reconciliations across every account and card, daily
- Supplier bills and receipts captured through Dext, Hubdoc or AutoEntry
- Sales invoices, customer statements and cash allocation
- Expense claims and petty cash
- Correct VAT coding and a reconciled VAT control account before each return
- Month-end checks, so your accountant receives clean, reconciled records
- Payroll journals and pension liabilities posted and reconciled
Why Making Tax Digital makes daily bookkeeping matter
VAT-registered businesses have kept digital records and filed VAT returns through compatible software since April 2022. Making Tax Digital for Income Tax began on 6 April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000. The threshold falls to £30,000 in April 2027 and £20,000 in April 2028.
Under MTD for Income Tax, quarterly updates go to HMRC through the year, so catching up the books once a year no longer works. A dedicated bookkeeper keeps records current, which turns each quarterly submission into a routine task instead of a scramble.
Offshore bookkeeping for accountancy firms
If you run a practice, an offshore bookkeeper lets you take on more clients without adding UK payroll. They work across your client portfolio in Xero or QuickBooks, prepare records to your review standard and flag anything that needs a qualified eye. Your team keeps the client relationship and focuses on year-end work and advice.
The software your bookkeeper uses
Our bookkeepers work in Xero, QuickBooks and Sage, and some hold Xero or QuickBooks certifications. Tell us your full setup, including receipt capture, payment and reporting apps, and we’ll shortlist bookkeepers who have used it.
What does it cost?
Prices are per full-time, dedicated team member, per month. The final price depends on the experience and software skills the role needs, and we confirm it in your quote.
