Which Sage do you use?
Sage 50 is the desktop software many established UK businesses have run for years, often on an office server or hosted desktop. Sage Accounting is the cloud product aimed at smaller businesses. Sage Payroll and Sage 200 cover payroll and larger companies. Your specialist will have used the product you run; tell us which it is in your brief.
Remote access to Sage 50
Sage Accounting is in the cloud, so your specialist simply logs in. Sage 50 needs a little more thought. Most clients give access through a remote desktop connection to the machine or server where Sage runs, or through a hosted Sage service. Either way, you control the login and can remove it at any time.
What your Sage specialist handles
- Bank reconciliations, supplier invoices and sales invoicing
- VAT returns through Sage’s Making Tax Digital submission
- Month-end journals, accruals and prepayments
- Sage Payroll: pay runs, RTI and pension files
- Tidying old data: unreconciled items, duplicate records, suspense balances
- Reports and exports for your accountant or board
Staying on Sage or moving on
Some businesses keep Sage 50 for good reasons: years of history, custom reports, stock modules. Others are ready to move to the cloud. Your specialist can keep Sage running smoothly or plan a move to Sage Accounting, Xero or QuickBooks, bringing balances and open items across and checking the figures agree.
What does it cost?
Prices are per full-time, dedicated team member, per month. The final price depends on the experience and software skills the role needs, and we confirm it in your quote.
