What goes into your management pack
A useful monthly pack answers three questions: how did we do, where is the cash, and what happens next. Yours will usually include:
- Profit and loss for the month and year to date, against budget and last year
- Balance sheet with key reconciliations
- Cash flow and a rolling cash forecast
- KPIs you choose: margins, debtor days, revenue per head, utilisation
- Aged debtors and creditors
- Written commentary explaining what changed and why
Board reporting
Boards want less detail and more meaning. Your accountant turns the management accounts into a short board pack: headline numbers, a few charts, the variances that matter and the questions directors should be asking. The same figures, set out for decisions rather than for accountants.
A fixed timetable
Management reports only help if they arrive while they still matter. Your accountant runs the month-end close to an agreed timetable, typically with the pack ready within five to ten working days of month end, and hits that date every month.
Tools and formats
Packs are built from your accounting software, whether Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, in Excel or in reporting tools such as Fathom, Syft or Power BI if you already use them. Once the format is agreed, it stays consistent, so month-on-month comparisons are easy.
What does it cost?
Prices are per full-time, dedicated team member, per month. The final price depends on the experience and software skills the role needs, and we confirm it in your quote.
