What your payroll specialist does each pay run
UK payroll leaves little room for error. Every pay run needs correct tax codes and deductions, statutory pay worked out properly, pension contributions reported to your provider and a Full Payment Submission sent to HMRC on or before payday. Your specialist takes care of it:
- Collecting hours, overtime, starters, leavers and changes from your managers
- Calculating PAYE, National Insurance, student loan and other deductions
- Statutory sick, maternity, paternity and shared parental pay
- RTI submissions: an FPS every pay run and an EPS when needed
- Pension auto-enrolment assessments, contributions and provider uploads
- Payslips, P45s, P60s and payroll reports
- Payroll journals posted to your accounting software
Staying on the right side of HMRC
Most payroll compliance comes down to deadlines. The FPS on or before payday. The EPS by the 19th of the following month when you are reclaiming statutory pay or claiming Employment Allowance. PAYE paid by the 22nd if you pay electronically. P60s to employees by 31 May, and P11Ds by 6 July for benefits you don’t payroll.
Pension auto-enrolment adds its own duties: assessing every worker, enrolling eligible staff, paying at least the 3% employer minimum on qualifying earnings and re-enrolling every three years. Your specialist tracks all of it so nothing slips.
Employment costs have also climbed. Since April 2025, employer National Insurance has been 15% on earnings above £5,000 a year, one reason many businesses are rethinking how they staff back-office roles.
Your software, your approval
Your specialist works in the payroll software you already use, such as BrightPay, Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll, QuickBooks Payroll, Moneysoft or IRIS, and we shortlist people who know it. You approve each pay run and release the payments yourself, so no money moves without a sign-off from someone in the UK.
Payroll for accountancy firms and multi-company groups
Practices that run payroll for clients use a dedicated specialist to process payrolls across the month. They prepare each run, flag anything unusual, and your team reviews before submission. The same works for groups with several companies on different pay dates.
Why one dedicated person works better
Payroll mistakes are personal. When someone is paid wrongly, trust goes quickly. Having the same specialist each month means someone who knows your staff, your pay rules and last month’s exceptions. That continuity is hard to get from a shared payroll bureau.
What does it cost?
Prices are per full-time, dedicated team member, per month. The final price depends on the experience and software skills the role needs, and we confirm it in your quote.

| Admin staff | from £800 | £2,500+ | ~68% |

Frequently Asked Questions
What does an offshore payroll specialist do?
They run your UK payroll: collecting changes, calculating pay and deductions, handling statutory pay, submitting RTI to HMRC, managing pension auto-enrolment and issuing payslips, P45s and P60s.
Is offshore payroll compliant with HMRC?
Compliance depends on the work being right and on time, not on where it is done. Your specialist submits RTI through your HMRC-recognised payroll software and you approve every run. HMRC still deals with you as the employer.
Can you handle pension auto-enrolment?
Yes. Your specialist assesses workers each pay run, enrols eligible staff, calculates contributions, uploads them to your pension provider and keeps track of re-enrolment dates.
Can one specialist run payroll for several companies?
Yes. A dedicated specialist can run payroll for several entities or, in an accountancy practice, for a portfolio of client payrolls on different dates.
How much does offshore payroll cost?
You pay a monthly fee for a dedicated, full-time specialist. Our prices start from £1,000 a month for bookkeeper-level staff and £1,250 for accountants, depending on the experience your payroll needs.
